Digimondo and LORIOT to work closely together in the future

Hamburg, Germany/Zurich, Switzerland) - 12.01.2023 - The Internet of Things (IoT) specialists Digimondo GmbH and LORIOT AG have entered into a partnership. Their products can be optimally combined. Digimondo's IoT software niotix and Digital Twin are a perfect match for LORIOT's LoRaWAN® Network Server and Network Management System. In the first step, an extensive connection of both solutions is planned to offer customers end-to-end IoT solutions and services. In the future, both partners also want to cooperate in terms of sales and market the overall product to their respective customer bases.

Julian Studer, CEO at LORIOT, explains the purpose and benefits of the partnership as follows:
"In the fragmented IoT world, it is necessary to put the right pieces of the puzzle together. LORIOT brings the LoRaWAN Network Server that collects data from the field. We are the absolute experts in that. Digimondo, on the other hand, is very good at generating added value from data and enabling customers to implement their own IoT solutions, thereby giving users efficiency and transparency benefits. By doing this, two pieces of the puzzle mesh very well here."

Christopher Rath, Managing Director of Digimondo GmbH, comments on the alliance: "After our repositioning at the beginning of 2022 - focusing on the IoT software niotix and the digital twin - we have now found the best possible partner in LORIOT on the network side. Our customers thus have even more choice in the LoRaWAN Network Server and can connect to the highly specialized LORIOT platform in addition to our firefly."

The target group of municipal utilities and energy providers plays a central role in the future considerations of both companies. On the one hand, LORIOT gains better access to this industry through the cooperation with Digimondo. Julian Studer: "A great added value for us is: Digimondo speaks the language of the energy industry." On the other hand, Digimondo gets the opportunity to develop further exciting points of contact for joint projects. In this way, the common goals will continue to be brought into focus and the added value for the customer will be expanded. Furthermore, niotix as an open IoT platform for the energy industry will be extended by LORIOT as another established partner. In this way, LORIOT customers will be able to benefit from the advantages of niotix without costly migration. In addition, the technology openness for the use of future relevant protocols such as mioty® is increased.

The chemistry between the two companies is right - this has already become apparent during the first personal contacts. LORIOT and Digimondo are also united by the philosophy that in the IoT world, openness and a willingness to cooperate are everything. "Partnerships bring us business success," Julian Studer states. "Data transmission is the first step in the data processing pipeline. We always work with partners when it comes to generating added value for customers." From his perspective, Christopher Rath comes to the same conclusion: "We have to think in ecosystems. If our IoT platform niotix is to generate maximum user benefits, it needs data from all accessible sources. So we also need to be open in all directions."

The first operational step of the collaboration is to technically connect the two systems. This is done via the new technology-agnostic device management in niotix, so that a solution is actually created from a single mold that can be easily rolled out as a whole. In this way, LORIOT-data can be combined with any other data, regardless of the transmission technology. Last but not least, the focus is on device management, because both sides depend on being able to access the device data directly in their function. For the sake of simplicity, the two systems are referred to as a connector.

Both partners are starting the cooperation optimistically: "Together we will analyze our focus markets and play to our respective strengths in order to win new customers," says Julian Studer. "Our idea is to develop new customer groups together," confirms Christopher Rath.
